THE THRILL OF HOPE, THE  WEARY WORLD REJOICES

A General Call to Praise the Lord - Glenis Cole

Read: Psalm 146:5-10

A General Call to Praise the Lord.

Psalm 146 encourages everyone to praise God for the things that he has done for us.  Modern students believe that David wrote the psalm but Jewish tradition attribute it jointly to Haagai and Zachariah who preached to encourage the people to pray to the God of Israel.

The scripture identifies the goodness of God and that he is well and worthy to be praised for hHis overwhelming generosity and kindness.  Our God is an awesome God.  He is the maker of the heaven and the earth. His abundance of love for us is evident so, we have to sing and praise his holy name.  He is a loving God.

Verses five through 10 describes some of the goodness of God.  He upholds and stands with the oppressed.   He gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free.  He gives sight to the blind.  The Lord is sure to life you up in time of need.  All that we can do for his universal goodness is to praise him.  Trust him, he will be right on time to answer to your call. He is faithful and he watches over all of us for free.  He deserves to be praised for his everyday goodness.

As for me, I have a friend in Jesus and I can see his goodness and mercy working all over me.

All praise and glory to God in the highest.

Glenis Cole
