Read: Isaiah 11:6-10 Peace through Jesus These passages bring messages about the prophesy of the coming of the messiah and how his coming to the world will bring peace among the earth’s inhabitants. The texts symbolically show how different creatures shall behave uncharacteristically and some, like the lion, opposite their violent nature. In other words, the peaceableness of his kingdom is figuratively expressed, i.e., savages and tame creatures will agree to live together in peace and harmony, none shall neither hurt nor devour, and Jesus shall rule as king over them. In the scripture, the savages can be likened to the Gentiles, and tame are the Jews. The prophesy in this passage then predicts that the presence and power of Jesus and His words will make those who seek Him, even if they were Gentiles, to convert to be Christ-like and live peaceably among themselves.
