About the JD Williams Endowment Fund

First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville has been a beacon of hope and tower of strength to the local community as well as to the wider world, for over two hundred years. We have recently established a permanent endowment fund, named in honor of a longtime member James Dale “JD” Williams, and a sub-fund named in honor of one of our young adults, Devonte Quasie-Woode who tragically passed away. These funds will generate income to continue our ministry work in the community and beyond and include offering scholarships for higher education.

A time of faith and fellowship, dedicated to raising essential funds for youth scholarships, community support initiatives, and vital church ministries.
The Prayer Brunch Fundraising event was successfully held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the new Sue Conway Grand Hall.

You can still make donations or make a pledge that can be paid over a period of three years, in monthly, quarterly, or annual installments. Download a pledge card here. You can also donate in-person or obtain a pledge card from the church office or in the Narthex on Sunday mornings.
