About the JD Williams Endowment Fund

First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville has been a beacon of hope and tower of strength to the local community as well as to the wider world, for over two hundred years. We have recently established a permanent endowment fund, named in honor of a longtime member James Dale “JD” Williams, and a sub-fund named in honor of one of our young adults, Devonte Quasie-Woode who tragically passed away. These funds will generate income to continue our ministry work in the community and beyond and include offering scholarships for higher education.

The Prayer Brunch Fundraising event was successfully held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the new Sue Conway Grand Hall.

Download a pledge card here. You can also donate in-person or obtain a pledge card from the church office or in the Narthex on Sunday mornings. No Donation is too small! “God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7 Sponsorships offer greater impact towards continuous support of sub-funds such as the Devonte Quasie-Woode Endowment which support youth and young adult scholarships and special programming. Sponsorships are available at the following levels: PLATINUM - ($10,000.00 - $20,000.00) GOLD – ($5,000.00 - $9,999.99) SILVER – ($3,000.00 - $4,999.00) BRONZE – ($1,000.00 - $2,999.00) OTHER - ___________ |
