About the JD Williams Endowment Fund

First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville has been a beacon of hope and tower of strength to the local community as well as to the wider world, for over two hundred years. We have recently established a permanent endowment fund, named in honor of a longtime member James Dale “JD” Williams, and a sub-fund named in honor of one of our young adults, Devonte Quasie-Woode who tragically passed away. These funds will generate income to continue our ministry work in the community and beyond and include offering scholarships for higher education.

Prayer Brunch Fundraiser

A time of faith and fellowship, dedicated to raising essential funds for youth scholarships, community support initiatives, and vital church ministries.

The Prayer Brunch Fundraising event will be held at First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville, 6201 Belcrest Road, Hyattsville, MD 20782 on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the new Sue Conway Grand Hall.
We would be honored to have you present with us at the fundraising brunch. Tickets for the fundraising brunch are $50.00 per person. Additionally, you can make a one-time donation or make a pledge that can be paid over a period of three years, in monthly, quarterly, or annual installments. Download a pledge card here. You can also obtain a pledge card from the church office or in the Narthex on Sunday mornings. No Donation is too small! “God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7 Sponsorships offer greater impact towards continuous support of sub-funds such as the Devonte Quasie-Woode Endowment which support youth and young adult scholarships and special programming.
