Responding to Hurricane Helene

Hygiene Kits - The need for Hygiene Kits is especially acute, according to the director of the Sager Brown Depot of UMCOR in Baldwin, LA. A Hygiene Kit contains specific items:

• 1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27")
• 1 wash cloth
• 1 comb (large and sturdy with at least 6 inches of teeth)
• 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
• 1 adult toothbrush (single brush only in original wrapper)
• 10 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages (3/4 by 3 inches)

Place items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag.
No money, notes, religious or political literature, or other items should be in the kits.

You may donate the items and place them in the box located in the Narthex or you may make a monetary donation $12 which covers the cost of a kit. Checks should be made payable to First United Methodist Church with Hurricane Relief in the memo line.
