The Bible Study this month comes from the Book of Psalms, Ch. 36-50 April 3, 2026 - Good Friday - The "7 Sisters of the Spirit" special Good Friday worship service featuring the seven active African-American female bishops of The United Methodist Church, gathering to preach on the "Seven Last Words" of Jesus. April 5, 2026 - Come and catch the Spirit on Easter Sunday! Pastor Penn will deliver the word and we will celebrate Holy Communion! April 14, 2026 - CROP Walk Fundraiser! Purchase meals at Franklins Restaurant(or buy a gift card) on Tuesday, April 14th and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to support the upcoming CROP Walk. Make sure to let the server or host know that you're there for the fundraiser, and present a copy of your bill to the host or Store clerk. April 21, 2026 - The City of Hyattsville in partnership with First UMC will have a Fresh Produce Give-Away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Distribution will start at 12:00N on a first come first serve basis. April 25, 2026 - National Prescription Take Back Day! Saturday, April 25, 2026, 10AM-2PM. Save the date and help prevent overdoses. Safely drop-off any unwanted or expired prescription medications, vapes, or other electronic smoking devices via a drive-thru! No questions asked. Get a FREE medication storage lock box while supplies last. SHARE FOOD - Affordable Groceries
The United Methodist Men have partnered with Catholic Charities to offer SHARE food. SHARE food delivery and pick up of pre-purchased meals typically occurs monthly on the 4th Saturday of the month at 10:30 am. Visit the church office to request a menu, order, and pay for your discounted groceries prior to the due date. Methods of payment include: Cash, Credit Card, EBT, or checks made payable to First United Methodist Men. Sign up to volunteer for SHARE (one Saturday a month) by emailing [email protected]. Community Service hours available. Food Pick-up driver(s) needed. Free Produce
The CITY OF HYATTSVILLE is giving free produce on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 12 noon here at the church. Distribution will take place outside Ensor Hall, depending on the weather. No registration or City residency is required. The bagged produce is served on a first-come, first-served basis. |
