The Women's Ministry of First Church known as the United Women in Faith (UWF) is a community of women whose purpose is to act boldly by strength, faith, and grace and above all to know God. We seek to put love in action by sharing and  experiencing freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; by developing creative, supportive fellowship; and through expanding concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The First UMC Hyattsville UWF fellowship together monthly, hosting book clubs, workshops, bible study/ devotional opportunities, and other fun activities. Plus, the UWF enjoys participating in missions through the church, the community and globally by providing gifts, leadership, service work, funding, and other perishable and non-perishable goods to those in need.
