Read: Mark 1:9-15
“You are my son, the beloved and I am pleased with you.”
In Jesus’ journey from Nazareth to Jordan he was baptized by John (the Baptist) and as he was coming out of the water, the heavens tore apart and the descending spirit, with a voice from heaven, uttered the above.
The spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness where he spent 40 days with wild beasts while angels waited on him. After that period, he was tempted by Satan. Jesus went to Galilee after John was arrested proclaiming the good news of God saying “the fulfillment of time in God’s kingdom has come for all to repent and believe in the good news as proclaimed.
