Read: Genesis 17:15-16
According to scriptures contained in Genesis chapter 17, 15-16, there is a very important lesson to learn, and that is nothing is impossible for God to do. It would be impossible to reason how 100 year old Abraham and 99 year old Sarah will make a child. It was God's reward to Abraham and Sarah for faithfulness.
When God made the promise, Sarah laughed, as in how can we have a baby at this age. It was God's promise and God's promises will never return void. God is the beginning and the end, he knows, and authorizes everything.
Abraham merits to be chosen because of his faithfulness. This is because he possessed superior knowledge above anyone in his generation. He is able to reason his way towards an understanding of God.
We see God's wonders every day. We see the animals survive the cold winter and the fish in the frozen sea. Trust not on your own understanding, trust in the Lord. You can trust God with an unknown future, you must listen to and obey God even when you think it is impossible.
Isaac was born to Sarah and Abraham to fulfill God's promise. Let us continue to serve the Lord for his wonders are yet to be performed.
